    Non-ASCII filenames rendered incorrectly

    Hello,

Some of my filenames have non-ASCII characters (Spanish special characters, for example: á, ñ, ü). Those characters are rendered incorrectly when I remotely access my machine from Windows using PuTTY (that is, when the connection doesn't time out! See here), or when I boot Knoppix liveCD (in this latter case, the only files affected are the ones on the partition containing FC). However, when I ssh to my machine from a computer running Red Hat 9, all filenames look exactly as I originally wrote them.

What can I do about it?

    Thanks in advance,

    -Fibo
