Browser issue after upgrade to F11

Used the 'preupgrade' method from F10 and all went off well.

The only issue I am having is with Seamonkey (my prefered browser) and Firefox as well.

I went to check on the Java site with Seamonkey, but the applet is not displaying properly. With Firefox it says:

    Detailed System Properties

    Java vendor: Sun Microsystems
    Vendor URL: http://java.sun.com/
    Java Version: 1.6.0 0
    OS Name: Linux
    OS Architecture: i386
    OS Version: 2.6.29.4-167.fc11.i586
    Java Class version: 50.0
    File Separator: /
    Line Separator:
    Path Separator: :

I can see the dancing duke but the applet is not displaying properly. Above the 'More Information' tab the applet is separated, and that portion has blotchy black uneven dotty lines even running beyond the applet area.

That is with Firefox 3.5b4 and with my prefered browser Seamonkey, the applet spreads right across the screen in blotches, barely visible.

I cannot view videos, as coloured lines spread across the screen, and even Yahoo ads in a mail account effect the screen when they keep changing. Sometimes the Yahoo logo on the Yahoo main page spreads in coloured lines across the screen.

Seamonkey does have the plugin Java(TM) Plug-in 1.6.0_13-b03 File name: libjavaplugin_oji.so

    and Firefox has IcedTea.so

Yes I do have java-1.6.0-openjdk java-1.6.0-openjdk-plugin installed as well as the latest Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 14

    Seeking guidance.

    Regards.

After searching for other similar queries, came across common F11 bugs

It could be the problem, but how do I:

add nomodeset as a kernel parameter
    ?

Did a search for IBM R51 and came across this thread.

Click on System, Preferences, Desktop Effects, and then selecting:

Enable Desktop Effects and checking on:

Windows Wobble When Moved and then just for grins runnng Wesnoth again and it displayed properly!

Not sure why but flash and Java based things are displaying correctly as well.

    Go Figure.
This resolved this issue as well.
