The kde-redhat updates to 4.2 went just fine here. Looks good - actually, looks the same as 4.1.96.Code:yum --enablerepo=kde-testing,kde-testing-all update

So far, so good. I don't like the blue panel for the Oxygen theme, but there are other nice ones available. Nitro from KDE Look is pretty nice. It looks like an improved version of the old Oxygen panel.

I am using Fedora9 for its stability, and I want to jump to F11 several months later.
But I have been waiting for KDE4.2 for a long time,
so when can I yum update to KDE 4.2 ?

I don't think it will be available for F9. They are working on the F10 KDE 4.2 updates right now. F9 will go EOL about a month after F11 is released so I don't think it's worth their while releasing it for a soon to be dead version.
Search the forum for KDE 4.2, there's a discussion going on right now, where one of the devs is active.

Doesn't look promising: I'm running an F9 update right now with all the kde-redhat repos (stable, tesing, unstable) enabled, and I get 4.1.4 from Fedora.
File a bug report/support request with R. Dieter at kde-redhat.org, maybe he'll consider building the stuff, if possible....

The 'i386' tag in THIS CASE ONLY is synonymous with '32-bit' PC architecture (as opposed to 64-bit, PPC, etc.), that is: any 32-bit Intel-compatible CPU that can handle the i386 or higher Instruction Set (including 64-bit CPUs). So, if you ever see an RPM tagged, for example, 'i586' (like the Sun Java RPMs), they require i586 Instruction Set or better. Note also that 'i386' (OR i486 & i586 & i686) RPMs can be installed on x86_64 (64-bit) Fedora OSs ("multi-lib" feature).

Thanks for saving me the typing
Running smoother than with KDE 4.1.x
The only real issues I've come across are my icons all disappeared once, and I have no system tray icons.
Edit: Looks like KDE 4.2 doesn't like multiple system tray widgets for me. I closed all of them, and added a new one to the panel, and now it works great
