mplayer plugin sound but no video

Hi.. When I browse net videos I get sound but no video. I just get a black screen. It buffers and plays sound that I can't stop. I am using freshrpms, dries, atrpms, newrpms and dag. I think I am missing the w32codec. (how do I check?) I tried yum install w32codec but says nothing to do.

It worked for me only after I installed the "all" package from here :http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/codecs.html see the instructions. But be cautios it might be illegal or problematic to use this codecs in your country or your company. Look at this link as well: http://www.fedora-linux.nl/wiki/inde...n_met_w32codec it is dutch, but imho understadable.

Did you check your Alsamixer settings. There is one specifically for Video input.

thanks... I downloaded the codedc package from mplayerhq and then followed the dutch installation instructions. I didn't know how to handle tar file untill now. Alot if the files already existed and I just typed y to overwrite the ones that were there. Now I can see the videos.... I looked for the Alsamixer but haven't found it yet. Seems like i saw it somewhere before.

Thumbs up

did the following and it worked
culprit is mozplugger
grep mplayer /etc/mozpluggerrc
would give you all the bad lines.
I did the following.

yum remove mozplugger
yum install gecko-mediaplayer

Youtube is fine and also windows media is working.
