DNS How-to for local machines

Is anyone aware of a proper "how-to" containing instructions on how to set up DNS for a local network. Currently using FC3 and would prefer to use named or equivalent.

I am looking for just such a guide. I found http://evpc.biz/computing/Linux/usin...cal_DNS_server
but after trying the examples there on my fedora core 4 box twice , i have had no luck.
PLease let me know if you find anything that might be helpful!

Help with A GUI to administer the DNS server
