Intel dp35dp line in issues

the line in on my Intel dp35dp is not going through to the speakers.

the audio being sent in shows up on the bar graph in sound settings but it never makes it to the speakers... all other audio works fine.

i modded the dist-alsa file using a ubuntu forums thread a friend referred me to... it had me add (for my adio version) options snd-hda-intel model=5stack

I am using f15 x64.

any advice/ideas?
