Google Talk Video and Voice calling plug-in for Fedora 13 and Firefox

How to install Google Talk Video and Voice calling plug-in for Fedora 13 and Firefox
Updated 2010-0911

Note: You must be the "root" user to run the below commands

64 bit Fedora 13 install example:
Get the Google Talk video chat plug-in here: http://www.google.com/talk/
For 64 bit Fedora 13, select "64 bit .rpm (For Fedora/openSUSE)" and click Install voice and video chat.

Install Google public key (See also here if you want: http://www.google.com/linuxrepositories/rpm.html?):
wget https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub
rpm --import linux_signing_key.pub
Install Google Talk plugin:
cd /home/jeff/Downloads/
yum localinstall google-talkplugin_current_x86_64.rpm
Fix Google Talk to work (See also here if you want: http://www.google.com/support/forum/...8df3feaf&hl=en):
Edit /etc/sysconfig/nspluginwrapper and add the following to the "export IGNORE_WRAP" line:
Example old line:
export IGNORE_WRAP="libtotem*:libjavaplugin*:gecko-mediaplayer*:mplayerplug-in*:librhythmbox*:packagekit*"
Example new line:
export IGNORE_WRAP="libtotem*:libjavaplugin*:gecko-mediaplayer*:mplayerplug-in*:librhythmbox*:packagekit*:libnpgoogletalk*:libnpgtpo3dautoplugin*"
Restart Firefox

Re: Google Talk Video and Voice calling plug-in for Fedora 13 and Firefox

Thanks for this write up, I had the problem where it kept prompting me to install even though it showed up in my plugins as well as packages. Now everything works flawlessly, if only I could figure out the internal microphone.....
