No wireless on last 2 kernel updates

I've been having trouble with my wireless for the last 2 kernel updates (current, and Last known good kernel was I believe. Unfortunately I had not set yum.conf to keep more than 2 kernels, or exclude kernel updates.

So now I'm stuck trying in vain to get my machine to work with wireless and ndiswrapper (worked flawlessly before).

I have ndiswrapper installed, and the drivers for my wireless card installed:

[mark@home: ~/Documents/fah]$ ndiswrapper -l
mrv8k64 : driver installed
        device (11AB:1FA6) present
I run depmod -a, and modprobe ndiswrapper, and the kernel module is loaded

[mark@home: ~/Documents/fah]$ modprobe -l | tail
but looking at the output of dmesg I get:

[root@home: ~]# dmesg | grep ndis
ndiswrapper version 1.53 loaded (smp=yes, preempt=no)
ndiswrapper (link_pe_images:575): fixing KI_USER_SHARED_DATA address in the driver
ndiswrapper: driver mrv8k64 (Marvell,06/08/2005, loaded
ndiswrapper: using IRQ 18
ndiswrapper (mp_init:219): couldn't initialize device: C0000001
ndiswrapper (pnp_start_device:435): Windows driver couldn't initialize the device (C0000001)
ndiswrapper (mp_halt:262): device ffff8100bd3c6700 is not initialized - not halting
ndiswrapper: device eth%d removed
ndiswrapper: probe of 0000:01:08.0 failed with error -22
usbcore: registered new interface driver ndiswrapper
and the output of "ifconfig wlan0" returns something to the effect that the system is not aware of the device:

[root@home: ~]# ifconfig wlan0
wlan0: error fetching interface information: Device not found
No amount of finagling, rebooting, even trying to compile ndiswrapper myself has work. I've actually resorted to a fresh install of f9, just in case I had corrupted something, but the results are the same.

Is anyone facing the same issues? Can somebody shed some light?

Did you install ndiswrapper from source or rpm? If from RPM, I don't know the answer. If from source, then you have to rebuild it with each kernel upgrade, basically the way you built it the first time. I would uninstall the whatever.net driver first, though that might not be important, but you can uninstall ndiswrapper with ndiswrapper uninstall. (You might have to be in the directory that was created when you decompressed the tarball, my memory is hazy on that. )
