fedora 8 installation problem

when i try to install fedora 8 in my computer i got a problem that is

when i press install or upgrade graphical mode or text mode it display starting vmliknuz...................
then it became hang thats why every time i had to reset the computer.

if anybody there to help me?
help me if you can

currently i am using fedora 6.
