yum is already installed. You can verify with the rpm command

rpm -q yum

To install with yum, you would type a command such as

yum install samba

Hope that helps get you going.

Two things: Here's a tutorial on yum: http://docs.fedoraproject.org/yum/en/ Next; until you get used to CLI, try using the graphical user interface (gui) version "yumex". Get it by opening a terminal, signing in as root (su -) and typing: "yum install yumex".
