how do I install jar utility?

I've just installed a fresh Fedora 6. I want to unpack a jar but i get 'bash: jar: command not found' . How do I install the jar command? I've tried yum install jar but that doesn't work. Seems weird that Fedora doesn't come with jar.

Do you mean a .jar java file? If so, you can either extract the contents inside with Archive manager, or try 'java -jar your file' if you want to run it.

I thought jar/unjar was an old MS-DOS archive program. I haven't seen it mentioned in years.

I use 'jar -xvf jarname.jar' to extract the contents of jar files almost every day. And I make jar files using 'jar -cvf' quite often. Any ideas how I install this? I like using command line and don't want to use some gui archive manager.
