reverting to Non Proprietary Nvidia drivers.

First off,, I've looked into trying to revert back to non proprietary driver for My GeForce 4800 mx ? Or was it a 4600 ?and found that there was a " dir file ? " that also had to be replaced , As this was not replaced when the vendors driver was uninstalled,,,

Well Now I forgot to bookmark it, and can't find a good How-to on it again,,,

The reason I ask is that when I tried to upgrade My Fedora 7 to Fedora 8 ,,, Via Yum,,, I was immediately afterwards put to task to try and fix it and couldn't ,,, ( more from My lack of Expertise )

So I reverted to a backup I had to get back the working ( Properly ) Desktop

I'd Like to try it again, and have It turn out successful ,,,

Is the 3d available without installing the Proprietary drivers from Nvidia ?

Thanks to all who respond, !

Why, that's one of the sites that's put up by our very own Firewing1, a Community Manager here and also he's the guy maintaining and developing the kmods for Livna.
