HP ProBook 4520s

Hi guys, my first post here.

I used Fedora Core for the first time when I was on my honeymoon as the apartment I rented had a PC with Fedora Core on it and loved it!

I trialed it on my ESX server at work and loved it again.

I have dual-booted and have Windows 7 and Fedora Core 14 on my laptop (HP 4520s) which I just got the other day.

I have just one issue with it, networking does not work at all, both wired and wireless. It detects a wired connection or eth0 but when I connect a cable to it nothing happens and there are no lights on the NIC. Wireless just doesn't exist at all so I can't do any updates.

NetworkManager reports that the NIC is unmanaged and disabling NetworkManager and using the legacy network service does not work.

I have no way of getting on the internet to do any updates so can anyone assist with this laptop? The lspci is:

Solved it, can't get wireless to work yet but I am flabbergasted at the solution.

I had to boot into Windows 7, disable wireless and plug in a network cable in Windows 7 so that the LAN connection became active (there was no LAN connection and no network card in Device Manager until I plugged in a cable) and THEN boot into FC14 and the LAN connection was then working.

I do not understand why that worked...
