Wolfenstein Enemy Territory install

I'm running Fedora 14 x86-64 on my Asus notebook and had no problems installing the Nvidia drivers using RPM fusion and yum. I would have been lost if not for forums like these which detail what to do. I've searched and searched but can't find any good posts on installing Wolfenstein Enemy Territory.

When running the .run archive, the installer stops due to inability in writing to the /usr/local/games directory. Apparently, I "cannot" change permissions to write there. Any suggestions?

Also, I think my package installer uses 32bit compatibility drivers by default. Any comments on this?

I'm looking forward to your replies..

Re: Wolfenstein Enemy Territory install

This will give you write permissions on that directory.
su -c "chmod +w /usr/local/games"

Re: Wolfenstein Enemy Territory install

thanks Kurtdriver..
that allowed me to install it. Next, I received the same errors as
I read the replies. I think I have 32bit compatible drivers included. What I did notice is that the "default.cfg" used in most id style games was not installed. In fact the program may be trying to write to another directory which it does not have permission to. I'm not really interested in adding all the 32bit libraries mentioned in that other thread. Does Kurtfriver or anyone else have a clue?

Re: Wolfenstein Enemy Territory install

Which of the errors mentioned in that thread are you getting? There are a number of different ones there.

If it is the glibc then see:

If it is the OpenGL problem then that's completely different.

If it is something else, what? (i.e. wait till you have to figure out the sound)
