Adding custom reslution: xrandr: Configure crtc

These are the steps that I am following

Code:
gtf 1920 1080 60
Output was
Quote:
# 1920x1080 @ 60.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 67.08 kHz; pclk: 172.80 MHz
Modeline "1920x1080_60.00" 172.80 1920 2040 2248 2576 1080 1081 1084 1118 -HSync +Vsync
I then did the following
Code:
xrandr --newmode "1920x1080_60.00" 172.80 1920 2040 2248 2576 1080 1081 1084 1118 -HSync +Vsync
xrandr --addmode XWAYLAND0 1920x1080_60.00
When I then run
Code:
xrandr --output XWAYLAND0 --mode 1920x1080_60.00
I get
Quote:
xrandr: Configure crtc 0 failed

Re: Adding custom reslution: xrandr: Configure crtc

I noticed that after running

Code:
xrandr --newmode "1920x1080_60.00" 172.80 1920 2040 2248 2576 1080 1081 1084 1118 -HSync +Vsync
That when I query xrandr ( xrandr -q)

That I get the following:

[QUOTE]Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 2646 x 768, maximum 8192 x 8192
XWAYLAND0 connected 1280x720+1366+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 600mm x 340mm
1280x720 59.86*+
XWAYLAND1 connected 1366x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 310mm x 170mm
1366x768 59.80*+
1920x1080_60.00 (0x286) 172.800MHz -HSync +VSync
h: width 1920 start 2040 end 2248 total 2576 skew 0 clock 67.08KHz
v: height 1080 start 1081 end 1084 total 1118 clock 60.00Hz[/CODE]

But the last mode should be under XWAYLAND0; if I understand things correctly.

Not sure but the mode might have already existed.

Re: Adding custom reslution: xrandr: Configure crtc

I disabled Wayland in /etc/gdm/custom.conf and I could then create my own customization.

Code:
WaylandEnable=false
I then made the custom resolution persistent but following https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/que...rs-resolution/
