Re: madwifi on Fedora 13

Hi guys,
I am new to this topic and specially Madwifi.
I want to install the madwifi driver for my atheros 5001X on Fedora 13.
I was hoping that I can do that via yum but it doesnt work.
Would you please tell me how to do that in simple words?! I try to use the madwifi wiki but it made me even more confuse.
Thank you in advance guys,
A.G

Thanks a lot. you are awesome!
I ran all the commands and it worked perfect.
I wanted to ask another question. I went through all these stuff in order to put my wlan card into monitor mode and be able to sniff packets on this mode. I still cant do that and I think I know why but I need help to fix it.
I have two wireless card : 1- internal which is intel 2-PCMCI which is the atheros one
I can see both of them now and get connect to any network with both. and when I run iwconfig i can see one interface wlan0, if I put it down both will go down.
How can I get rid of intel one so the OS doesnt even see it?
Thank you in advance,
A.G

Try this for monitor mode,

Change the 7 to match the channel you want to monitor
Code:
su
airmon-ng stop wlan0
airmon-ng start wifi0 7
please don't ask any wireless key cracking or packet sniffing questions as it is against the forum rules.
