Unable to do just about anything?

I have Fedora 12 & don't want to upgrade to anything newer.
Just want to learn the basics of linux on this platform.
I am trying to install bunch of programs as Team viewer remote access & some media programs but getting all types of errors as wine missing etc.
I am not ready to upgrade to easier version to do things as required but I would like basics of using linux & installing wine etc or anything more to get up & running?? Any help appreciated?

Re: Unable to do just about anything?

For me, teamviewer was pretty easy, just install wine.

yum install wine

Then, in the teamviewer directory

wine ./teamviewer worked.

Ah, just noticed it was Fedora 12. I'm not sure, I don't think it's supported anymore, but I would think you'd be able to install wine. Otherwise, you'll have to go hunting for Fedora 12 repos.

Dude ... I've just reviewed your last (and only) three posts here on the forum, and to be quite honest, something just isn't adding up. In fact, a question has drifted through my mind about exactly who's machine/HDD you are working on, and how and by whom fedora 12 got installed.

I recommend Google. I also recommend installing F16.

In the meantime, and until that nagging little question goes away, folks are free to respond via PM as they wish, but for now ...

... thread closed.

EDIT: Please feel free to PM me with details and further explanations.
