Transparent window bars after upgrade F23 to F24 and more...

After upgrading from F23 to F24 with dnf and reboot. The buttons to minimize, resize and close the windows do not show up / are not visible. The top bar is transparent. Only some programs are broken. Thunderbird, Firefox a Terminal window, Clementine.

Nautilus and Chrome show all three buttons and work correctly.

I had a theme installed. I tried to change it with the gnome-tweak-tool, but it is not possible to change the theme. The extention is not activated and it is not possible to activate it. Also, I noticed the buttons in the gnome-tweak-tool look somewhat off. It is not possible to distinguish whether the items are active or not.

Also Nautilus looks weird. The items to Documents, Pictures etc. don't really look like buttons and when I hover over some elements e.g. Home the menu moves a tiny bit up and down.

Another thing in LibreOffice's Writer, the menu looks like this "FileEditView...". There are no spaces between the menus. I guess this in not how it is supposed to look like.

Anyone else similar problems?

I am on a T420s Thinkpad. Nvidia driver is installed.

Probably due to the update in GTK3, and about the only theme that supports it is adwaita, the default theme.

Yeah, change your theme using gnome-tweak-tool to adwaita and this issue should be gone.

Re: Transparent window bars after upgrade F23 to F24 and more...

@BkkLQ: I cannot use the gnome-tweak-tool to do that. I mentioned above that the tool does not allow to change the theme. Maybe I can delete the theme folders manually? Will try...

...I deleted all folders in /usr/share/themes manually except for Adwaita.
Then used this command line to activate it

Code:
gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.user-theme name "Adwaita"
...but it did not help.

From a terminal windows as the user you are having the problem with.

Code:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme "Adwaita"
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences theme "Adwaita"

I really hate that this is about the only fix, though.. I think the Adwaita theme is butt ugly
