No users to select on boot

I recently have a weird issue. When I boot my Fedora 25 laptop I get the login screen (I can see the textured wallpaper) but with no users to select. I can hit enter then type my password and login, but I have to do it blindly.

Anyone have any ideas?

which fedora did you install? workstation or one of the other spins, they use different desktop managers. GNOME uses GDM whereas most the others use LightDM.

do you get any error messages?
