KDE Plasma: Cannot login into 2nd user with sddm

Hi all,

I noticed today, that I could not login into my 2nd user with sddm. On any attempt the system fell back into the login screen. This happened with direct login or switch user.

I could remedy the issue by downgrading sddm to sddm-0.14.0-10.fc26.x86_64.

My /etc/pam.d/sddm as follows
[root@linux ~]# cat /etc/pam.d/sddm
auth [success=done ignore=ignore default=bad] pam_selinux_permit.so
auth substack password-auth
-auth optional pam_gnome_keyring.so
-auth optional pam_kwallet5.so
auth include postlogin

account required pam_nologin.so
account include password-auth

password include password-auth

session required pam_selinux.so close
session required pam_loginuid.so
session optional pam_console.so
-session optional pam_ck_connector.so
session required pam_selinux.so open
session optional pam_keyinit.so force revoke
session required pam_namespace.so
session include password-auth
-session optional pam_gnome_keyring.so auto_start
-session optional pam_kwallet5.so
session include postlogin
[root@linux ~]#
My primary user worked fine. The difference that I am aware of is, that there is no kdewallet configured in my secondary user.

Excerpt from
# journalctl -ab | grep sddm

Best regards,

Re: KDE Plasma: Cannot login into 2nd user with sddm

I tested a fresh user. Everything works fine with sddm-0.14.0-14.fc26.x86_64. A kdewallet is pre-configured, and automatically opened with pam-kwallet. So I decided that no bugreport is needed and switched over to the new user.
