How to get music to iPod Touch 6

So I have an iPod Touch 6 and a Fedora computer. The question is simple: how do I get music from the computer to the iPod? I tried Rythmbox and it told me to "Initialize my iPod" which to me sounds like "Erase all my stuff". Any way to easily do this without erasing my content?

Thanks!
