Photo editing software

Please help me save my marriage. I talked my wife into using linux awhile back with no problems, but now she has gotten into scrapbooking and wants a easy to use program to add boarders (lots to choose from, I have tried fotowell) and of course general editing. She tried Gimp but it is more than what she is looking for.

Thanks

Donnie

Re: Photo editing software

Moved to General Support. Rants is for a post that is just blowing off steam, not seeking a solution.

Re: Photo editing software

DigiKam comes with easy to use editing and has set of pre-defined borders to choose from. Plus lot more.

Re: Photo editing software

For the simplest image editing, I would also look at Pinta.

It has rather intuitive interface and very light. Easy to work with.

True, but as it’s an open-ended question rather than a traditional support-request with version ties, and since then we’ve got a section for discussion of graphical software, this thread seems more appropriate there. Feel free to continue (or not)!

That's very old fashioned thinking.

Re: Photo editing software

If you take the time to learn Scribus, I think it is a nice (straight forward) page layout program. Does a great job for web and print.

And GIMP, though I use a small fraction of what it is capable of, is a great application. You can start by learning a few basics (easy enough) and then add to your GIMP knowledge as you explore.

I think GIMP and Scribus are good, in that you can learn a few basic functions and then build on that skill set as you like
