Facebook join me banner - how to remove?

Hi guys,

Thanks again for all your help in the past, I really appreciate it!

Anyway I am not on facebook but do frequent the site as it is used as a marketing tool for a variety of companies.. Anyway, when you go onto their page there is an annoying rather large banner that uses up almost half the page asking to log in or join, anyway this can be deleted by rigth click in firefox, inspect element and then delete that "node". Can I get firefox to do this permanently whenever I visit facebook?

Use an advertisement blocker.

Do you mean the see more by logging in thing? If so, the ad blocker doesn't stop it. The only thing I've found that works is a java script blocker. Trying facebook with just adblock origin, however, has the big half page thing the OP mentions.
@flyingdutchman did you check? If so, do you also have a javascript blocker? If so, what browser and what OS/ (Just curious, because my results are what I mention on both CentOS and FReeBSD, so I'm wondering if you were just extrapolating from other, less obnoxious sites)

It also blocks of a lot of other annoying things--the trouble is that you have whitelist, at least temporarily, various sites---this forum for example, won't work with my scriptblocker enabled.

You could most likely remove it with some lines of javascript. There are plugins that let you inject user scripts into websites.

OK, I'm running a combination of blockers, so I don't know which one exactly cuts the crap.
