change cursor in mate

I'm trying to change the cursor i go in to appearance/ customize/ cursors
and select one of the cursors.

the problem is that the cursor is always black (adwaita) no matter which I choose it doesn't change.

any possible solution ?

ps. even weirder is that when i captured the screen the cursor looks like in the one i chose but what i see in the screen is the adwaita.

Re: change cursor in mate

Looks like an appearance setting bug. I have tried it with compiz and marco window managers. It makes no difference which is in use.
