Talking workaround for 'BAD PASSWORD'

I'm trying to use passwd command to change my password however, I'm getting this error:

BAD PASSWORD : it is based on a dictionary word.

I'm not worried about security since the machine is on my personal network, is it possible to work around this validation?

change it as root (it will still say BAD PASSWORD but will apply the change anyway)

su -
[root@localhost ~]# passwd username
Changing password for user username
New UNIX password:
BAD PASSWORD: is too simple
Retype new UNIX password:
passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully.
[root@localhost ~]#

Ideally, you don't want to use the same password as root. Otherwise someone might find away to hack in your regular account somehow and try to get on root with the same password! You made it easy for the hackers.
