fedora inaccessible

during an upgrade to fedora 11 from 10 my instillation encountered a problem and instillation froze. now my partition is inaccessible. i have tried installing the upgrade from a dvd afterword. everything looked to have successfully installed. but upon boot-up, my computer freezes at the fedora load screen. is my data lost? what can i do to save it?
