Forum does not remember login.

Has anyone noticed that remember me is not working. tried several times, opening and closing Firefox, but each time I have to log back in. My settings in Firefox are the same, does not delete cookies and active logins.

Re: Forum does not remember login.

thanks for letting us know. it's probably due to a template change made during the transition to https. I'll make sure this gets back to the forum editor making the changes.

Re: Forum does not remember login.

do those firefox cookie settings normally work okay for https sites as well?

EDIT - seems to work fine in Opera so may be browser specific

Re: Forum does not remember login.

It just happened to me as well, so it's likely something that the server folks are working on. Once logged in again, I'm fine.

Happened to me in google-chrome, I think. (Maybe I didn't click remember me last time, but I suspect I did.)

Re: Forum does not remember login.

Hi, I've heard back from the site engineer. The answer that came back was to try clearing all their cookies and browser data for the site

this makes sense as you may have old http template code still in cache which conflicts with the new https layout.

Re: Forum does not remember login.

That seems to have done it for me. (Using google-chrome, I just cleared all data from the last hour, which seems to have done the trick.)

Deleted all cookies, active logins, site preferences and downloads. No luck, still not remembering login. Using Firefox 54.

Re: Forum does not remember login.

i'll try it myself in virtual machine as I only have opera installed on bare metal installs currently and that works fine too. the person working on the site tried with Mac OS and Firefox. The OS shouldn't make any difference but obviously something is amiss somewhere. What extensions and add-ons have you installed to Firefox? Maybe the forum is allergic to W10 and ubuntu (joke)

Same ones I have had for a while:

Adblock
Adblock Plus
Ublock Origin

Re: Forum does not remember login.

for informational purposes, you can add any adblock filter lists to ublock origin (some are already listed) and cut down the duplication of those add-ons.

Re: Forum does not remember login.

I've now tried it in F26 MATE-compiz vm with firefox which is the default browser for this spin, with and without adblock plus and ublock origin installed. I can't recreate the issue either. however, i'm not dismissing the fact you have an issue with the 'remember me' function. please can you also amend any stored bookmarks to https instead of http.

odd version information - 54.0.1 (64-bit) Firefox for Fedora, fedora - 1.0

Re: Forum does not remember login.

glad it's resolved. also you should get slightly better browser performance. I noticed that firefox slowed to a crawl with both filter extensions installed
