Re: fire fox

I am not sure what you mean by "same platform as firefox".

Here are the typical browser options nevertheless

1. Google Chrome (external download)
2. Opera (external download, as far as I know)
3. Midori (lightweight - available in the repos).

Hope this helps.

Re: fire fox

I assume by platform you mean rendering engine?

If so, your choices are

1. Firefox (uses Gecko,)
2. Google Chrome and Midori (use WebKit)
3. Opera (uses presto)

Re: fire fox

Konqueror uses KHTML or optionally Webkit. KHTML was forked by Apple and eventually led to Webkit which is used in their Safari browser on OSX as well as Google Chrome's (Chromium) and many others.

Gnome's Epiphany is another Webkit browser but is not really fully functional yet.

Or you could go retro elinks?

Opera tend to do interesting things with their user interface, but I tend to find it's not supported enough on the web to be used exclusively as a browser.
