wpa_supplicant and wps

Hi there. I tried to connect to a WPS AP, its password is unknown so wps is the only option.
after much googling I found that wpa_cli can be used for this, but under fedora, wpa_cli cannot find the socket of wpa_supplicant (although it exists in its config, the socket is not created in /var/run/wpa_supplicant)

so wps connection does not appear to be possible right now..
did anyone have any luck?
