That's very old fashioned thinking.
The current model is that it's holographic nested virtualities of turtles, all the way down.

Thought you might enjoy the lyrics to Turtles all the way down.

Song about it is here

Thanks for the expression.

Re: The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

Again increased *NIX Server Load Limit, now up to 20 from 16. Originally, we were at 10, so hopefully this will help.

Think issue is bigger than that - you actually "disappear from the web" for minutes at a time.

Sorry 'www.forums.fedoraforum.org showthread.php t 314572' does not exist or is not available.
I get these and others from my ISP abbout 50% if the failure times, which are frequent. The other 50% of failures, I get far enough in to get the server busy messages.

Re: The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

maybe you have DNS server issues lightman47? we've not had anyone else report such problems yet. do you use the ISP DNS servers or a n other DNS server provider?

I personally won't use my ISP's DNS servers because they are extremely unreliable, especially during peak times.

Re: The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

I shall have to check that. Thx

--- edit 1
edited the DSL modem - we'll see how that goes.

--- edit 2

Probably just me ... had changed to the google servers a couple hours ago - pages seem to be loading without the usual 'delay' I'd gotten used to. I like it.

--- edit 3 (4+ days later -06/25/2017)

Thanks for the DNS server advice!! Things here are faster as well. Also, I'm tempted to say (adjustments Bob mentions) that the 'too busy' errors seem to have disappeared (fingers crossed).

I've been having this problem for the last couple of hours.
It is just after 0800 GMT.

The server has been overloaded, that's all. Unfortunately, the staff doesn't have access.

Re: The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

threads merged, same reason behind this as all the other failures recently. the new forum owner's choice of server isn't capable of handling the forum during peak demand, it's really as simple as that.

Re: The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

I tweaked what I could a moment ago and have emailed the owner for his help. Please be patient while we try to get things going.

Question Re: The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

Who is the owner of these servers???

Who ever is, throw him/them immediately to the (very very) hungry lions, near by pond full of crocodiles.

Got on (briefly < 1 minute) twice this whole morning. I hope it was due to the provider 'fixes' in progress. Heh.

Re: The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

So Lightman, YOU'RE THE GUY!!! We had set it up for a maximum of 3 people to access the Forum at a time and you were #4, thereby crashing it.

Really, if you did get on for two minutes, you did a lot better than I did. Not sure why, but things seem to be back to normal. Perhaps our new owner has talked to the Server People or perhaps everyone just went over to Mint. Time will tell.
