Trouble getting Intel 7260 iwlwifi to work (Bluetooth works fine)

I recently switched from Windows to Fedora 26 with KDE on my notebook. The notebook has an Intel 7260 WiFi/Bluetooth PCI card. I tried to install a .ucode driver. But I'm still not able to get WiFi to work. Bluetooth seems to work though (at least there is a Bluetooth icon in the taskbar(?) when I press the WiFi toggle key on my keyboard).
The driver that I tried to install comes from: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us...000005511.html
I picked the 'iwlwifi-7260-ucode-25.30.14.0.tgz' which contains 'iwlwifi-7260-14.ucode'. Then I just copied that file to '/lib/firmware/' and rebooted.

I have absolutely no clue how to get this to work. I tried so many different things that other people suggested online, but in the end I think I may have broken more things than I actually fixed, so I reinstalled Fedora 26 KDE and just installed the driver again.

Here are the outputs of some related commands:

Code:
fedora@localhost:~$ lspci | grep Network
07:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 7260 (rev bb)
Code:
fedora@localhost:~$ sudo rfkill unblock all

Re: Trouble getting Intel 7260 iwlwifi to work (Bluetooth works fine)

Firstly

rfkill list

It often has things turned off by default

You can always do rfkill unblock all

Also

rpm -q iwl7260-firmware

If that doesn't give back a result, install it with dnf -y i nstall iwl7260-firmware (that's a lower case L, not the numeral one, in iwl).

Re: Trouble getting Intel 7260 iwlwifi to work (Bluetooth works fine)

Thanks for the reply.

I have already done 'rfkill unblock all' as you can see in the second code block of my first post. But the result is the same as toggling the WiFi button on my notebook to the 'on' state. But it only enables Bluetooth and not WiFi.

Code:
fedora@localhost:~$ rfkill list
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
        Soft blocked: no
        Hard blocked: yes
26: hci0: Bluetooth
        Soft blocked: no
        Hard blocked: no
Code:
fedora@localhost:~$ rpm -q iwl7260-firmware
iwl7260-firmware-25.30.13.0-75.fc26.noarch

Hard blocked usually means either a hardware switch or possibly something in the BIOS. I'd look through there and see if it somehow got disabled.

Re: Trouble getting Intel 7260 iwlwifi to work (Bluetooth works fine)

There is nothing related in the BIOS. Also it would seem unlikely that it's disables in the BIOS because I haven't touched it since I moved from Windows to Fedora and on Windows the WiFi did work.

This is my notebook btw: https://www.notebooksbilliger.de/hp+...348sg+notebook

And there just is no hardware switch to disable WiFi. The only thing that it has is the key combination fn+F12 to toggle WiFi. But this doesn't remove the hard block. It only toggles the soft block for Bluetooth and WiFi. So WiFi is always hard blocked.

Have you tried with, say, a live Mint CD to see if that sees it?
(Which will at least confirm the issue is Fedora).

try a fresh install again without installing external drivers...

I am using Intel 7260 N Single Band and it works fine on GNOME out of the box...
