Fedora 26 boot fails is CDROM is present.

After upgrading to Fedora 26 a new issue has developed on my system. Windows 10 still boots OK with the drive present, but I have to disconnect the drive to get Fedora 26 to boot.

If the CDROM is present, the console shows the following messages:

exception Emask 0x52 SAct 0x0 SErr 0xffffffff action 0xe frozen
...
failed command: Identify packet device

does anyone know a work-around for this?

uname -a reports
Linux system1 4.11.11-300.fc26.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Jul 17 16:32:11 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

hardware report is attached.

if that SATA optical drive is connected to an ASMedia SATA controller it shouldn't be. plug only HDD into that controller.

Thank you very much. Moving the CDROM to one of the Intel SATA poirts fixed the boot issue.

If I may ask, why do the ASMedia SATA ports cause an issue with the CDROM?
