I am trying to connect to a mysql database remotely and I am having a permission problem.
Client system - Linux (Ubuntu 7.04) - linuxclient.domain.com
Joined to the domain with a DNS entry.
Server - Tru64 mysql 3 something
Permissions - user@%.domain.com
I verified this info with the admin and the Windows system we logged in from.
client to Tru64 sql -
user@linuxclient:~$ mysql -u dbuser -h tru64sql.domain.com -p
ERROR 1045 (00000): Access denied for user: 'dbuser@' (Using password: YES)
client to linux sql for comparison - This system has the identical permission setup @%.domain
user@linuxclient:~$ mysql -u dbuserLinux -h linuxsql.domain.com -p
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'dbuserLinux'@'linuxclient.domain.com' (using password: YES)
I can see why the connection doesn't happen (missing @domain info) but I don't know how I can fix this. Has anyone had to deal with this before or have any ideas??
