Fan speed running full blast upon bootup

Fedora release 25 (Twenty Five)
Laptop: Asus

After the latest software updates, a reboot resulted in the fan running at topspeed at startup!
I checked cpu usage and nothing at all other than a process called upowerd taking only 3.6% of cpu which should not trigger the fan to come on full blast.

Any ideas ?
