usb modem not connecting

i m using fedora 16 on acer 4736Z laptop....now i have a problem while trying to connect to internet through usb modem. though i can connect through wired connection.the problem is only for usb modem..
the output message-----
Connection activation failed
(1) Creating object for path '/org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/ActiveConnection/6' failed in libnm-glib.

I have updated the network manager but it does not work...
plzzzz help me to fix the problem...
