Question ClamAV Database error.

I have installed clamav with this command:

sudo yum install clamav

it installed. now when i whant to scan my laptop it give the following error:

LibClamAV Error: cli_loaddb(): No supported database files found in /var/lib/clamav
ERROR: Can't open file or directory

How can i fix this. My logic tells me that the database file is not there.
How do i fix this?

Re: ClamAV Database error.

I don't remember exactly, but I think there is some command-line program to initialize the clamav database you need to run after installation. Also I seem to recall needing to edit something in a clamav .conf file too.

Re: ClamAV Database error.

try as root
su -
/* then run this */
clamscan --version
the output should be something like this
" ClamAV 0.97.3/14484/Sun Feb 19 20:50:46 2012"
though your date& time will be different

freshclam will update the database
