F16: new NIC install borks system, udevd error?

Hey Gang-

Perfectly good system running 3.2.3-2.f16 with 1 SSD holding OS dirs and 1 HD holding /home directory. Installed an Intel Pro 1000 NIC replacing the MOBO interface and upon startup, get shot into emergency mode. Error shows udevd[452]: '/sbin/modprobe -bv pci:v000010DEd00000.........' [536] terminated by signal 15.

Removed NIC and returned to old config think it was the Intel NIC was defective and error messages remain. NIC works in windoze box also.

TIA for any assistance. V.

Addendum: have tried renaming /etc/udev/rules.d to something else but error continues.

really guys, 91 views and not even a suggestion? I am stuck right now and don't know if I should scrounge the forums or re-install and isolate/unplug my data drive with /home directory. TIA
