KDE not recognising Vodafone Mobile dongle in F16

I am running F16 but in Gnome 3 my Vodafone USB mobile dongle is recognised alright but when I switch to KDE it is not recognised. I have to ask on this forum as I cannot access the KDE forum for some reason or another
