Re: Mp3 and plugins

You can add flash player using this repository
sudo rpm -ivh http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/adobe-release/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm
sudo rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-adobe-linux
and install the package
sudo yum -y --skip-broken install flash-plugin
The mp3 format is not open format so it is not suppored by fedora's repositories. But there are third party repos which you can use
sudo rpm -ivh http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-stable.noarch.rpm
sudo rpm -ivh http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-stable.noarch.rpm
sudo yum -y --skip-broken update

Re: Mp3 and plugins

Fedora doesn't come with the mp3 codec and numerous other audio/video codecs due to licensing and their commitment to open source.

You can install the just about any of the audio/video codecs very easily by using Dangermouse's great little program called autoten. It sets up the repository for you, downloads the codecs, and installs them for you.. all with a click of a button.. It will also do several other nice things to help with a new install of Fedora, too.
