Dell Latitude 5500 & Fedora Core 10

We have a new Dell Latitude 5500 (Intel Core 2 Duo with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD, 2 GB RAM).. Have downloaded Fedora-i686-Genome-Live CD and installed it. Facing the following issues.

Issue 01 : During the shutdown process, the screen flickers and the all the characters come in top one line of the screen, garbled. Then the system powers off.

Issue 02: Upon booting, the 'network connections' details such as IP Address of system and DNS Server have to be entered. Then we can access the web. But this has to be repeated after every boot up.

Thanks for the help.

For issue 01: WE tried an external sony lcd monitor. The problem does not arise here. In 'Display Resolution' configuration, te external lcd monitor is displayed as 'SONY LCD 17"' whereas the built-in monitor is termed as 'Laptop 15"'..

Is the system not detecting the LAptop Monitor Correctly ?
