Sound configuration - raise volume

    Sound configuration - raise volume

    Is there anyway to raise the volume of sound in general? To listen to system messages and xmms or mplayer, I have to put my volume at maximum.

    If anyone knows please tell me how to do it.

    no problem
    I've noticed sometime sa "esc" won't save on reboot, to completely save alsamixer changes (as root,) type
    /usr/sbin/alsactl store
