Hmm, I just noticed another blog by Christopher Blizzard ... http://www.0xdeadbeef.com/?p=160

He says "Itís the apps that matter and they could have been written in any language. Mono just came along for the ride.".

Well, well now, lets not get hasty ... I just remembered a blog by Havoc Pennington were he says, and let me quote ...
"Red Hat not shipping Mono is currently a can't rather than a won't. Making it worse, we are not able to spell out all the facts on why we can't."

So I say bullsh** to Mr. Christopher Blizzard.
    MONO does matter.
Why ? Because is from Microsoft. And because everyone right in the head can't help wondering ... What Happened ?

so this is the end of it ?

I want to see more discussion if one is to take .net/mono and embrace it...surely we can all agree somehow on what to do here....ive read all these replies and frankly bonefry makes some good calls here that I"d like to see hashed out more..

we're talking about the future of OSS here, so I think i ts fairly important we conclude this matter

    cheers

The reasons Red Hat decided to go ahead have since been revealed. It's because of the Open Invention Network. http://gregdek.livejournal.com/4008.html
