    xmms cddb problem

I've seen this problem posted but not answered. In xmms the cddb function isn't working for me. xmms functions well otherwise in all respects. Grip's cddb function does work fine by the way.
The xmms cddb network debug window shows a successful connection to freedb.org with a "got level 6". Then..." sending query-command discID e70q6f10"...
but finally the message ..."query response: 500 command syntax error"...
Is there a way to fix this??? As far as I can tell things are configured properly on my end, I have the CD Audio plugin 1.2.10 and configured it for cddb with freedb.org. Tried with various CD's always the same. Grip's cddb lookup works well, xmms doesn't. Any thoughts out there? Thank you.
