Background:
I setup Fedora Core 4 and everything installed fine. However when I went through the initial install I chose the default LCD screen with screen resolution 1024x768. I am trying to change the screen resolution to 1280x1024, but it will not accept the setting... I know the machine can handle it, because I actually bought 2 of the same model and works great on the other one. But for the one that works, at install I had chosen the 1280x1024 res. Both have the ATI Radeon Mobility M9.
The real issue:
I found in the Xorg.log the following error...
Solutions???Code:(II) RADEON(0): PLL parameters: rf=2700 rd=12 min=20000 max=35000; xclk=20000 (II) RADEON(0): Panel ID string: C4011^B (II) RADEON(0): Panel Size from BIOS: 1024x768 (II) RADEON(0): BIOS provided dividers will be used. (WW) RADEON(0): Valid modes must be between 320x200-1024x768
My guess is that somewhere in the BIOS it is set to handle nothing above 1024x768, based on the error from line 3, but I have combed the BIOS and there is no option to change this (that I could find). Anyone have any ideas? Is this in fact a BIOS issue, because like I said above, I KNOW the card and machine can handle it. Also, I thought about wiping it clean and starting over, but I have too much configured on the machine that it would not be worth it. This is just really bugging me and I can't sleep at night
I appreciate any guidence in this matter, and thank you in advance
