Post Wine September Version - RPM

    Hi people,

On Friday a new wine version (20050930) was released.
For changes since the last version see the offical
    announcement: http://www.winehq.org/?announce=latest

The new rpm's can be downloaded from here:
    http://komi.bluezones.org/wine/fc4/20050930/

Thanks to marq for mirroring my site. The mirror is available here:
    http://www.maurer-it.net/index.php?o...pper&Itemid=45
It will become up to date soon.

    PLEASE NOTE:
This is NOT an offical rpm from the Fedora Team or Redhat.
Normal users just need the wine-20050930-1fc4.xxx.rpm file.
If you are not shure which file you need, take wine-20050930-1fc4.i386.rpm

Feedback, Suggestions or Corrections are very welcome!

    Best regards
    Dieter Komendera

PS: The last rpm was downloaded about 700 times (only from my server)! :-)

I'm downloading these new rpm's now and they should be available soon. For those of you using wget or other similar tools direct link is http://www.maurer-it.net/~komi/rpms/<release>/wine-<release>-1fc4.<arch>.rpm

    Happy downloading!
    :)

Why don't you approach WineHQ to ask them if they would make your RPMs official? After all, the Fedora RPMs there are seriously outdated.

    @nandowong:
No, this rpm's are compiled only with the standard ./configure
They are not compiled with --with-gif.
For which game do you need this feature?
Would be --with-gif the right parameter?

    @iamroot:
I'll see what I can do. It seems that Vincent Beron, the offical maintainer
of the Redhat/Fedora rpm's is very bussy, as he mentioned here:
    http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine...er/040387.html

the gift support is for a structural software package. when It outputs the shear and bending diagraphms it does it in a gift picture, but I get a black box

Is there a way to change that in the srpm to make it --with gif and athlon?

    thanks

No actually. The Fedora RAM maintainer for winehq is busy and there hasn't been a new release in months. They're getting someone else to pick up the slack so there might be a new version soon.

can I install it over wineX ?(cedega)
Windows doesn't just crash - it opens a dialog box and lets you press OK first. Powered by RedHat since I know my self ;) Fedora 12 #379190

    hmm...
    I didn't tried that, cause I don't have cadega..
But as far as I know, cadega uses the same configuration directory(~/.wine/).
It could be that they conflict.
I'd uninstall cadega and rename the cadega config directory to something other(as a backup)
    Then I'd install new wine.

Note that I haven't tested this.
    Maybe someone else knows something?

This is probably a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyways. The kernel I'm using is and i686 kernel. I have an athlon xp 2800 cpu, and pretty much all of the packages are i386. So the question is, should I use the i386, i686, or athlon? I'm guessing I shouldn't use the athlon rpm because there are no athlon rpms installed on my system.
