    Exclamation port forwarding, not forwarding?!!!

I've been trying to forward one of the ports on my gnu/linux firewall, but the destination machine is not reciving any packets from the firewall.

    the current configration is:
RH7 (linux 2.4.31 with lvs and iptables options installed)
    2 NICs. (eth0 external, eth1 internal)

    command used
    Code:
    /sbin/iptables -t nat -I PREROUTING -i all -p tcp --dport 8080 -j DNAT --to-destination [local-ip]:9090
but whenever I try to connect to the firewall, Firefox/Opera gives me "Could not connect to remote server ".

is there some option that I need to enable in the /proc/sys/net/* for PORT FORWARDING to work (similer to echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward for IP FORWARDING).

    thanks in advance.

P.S. before anyone flame me for using RH7, am also using FC4 as my desktop, and PORT FORWARDING is not working on it eather.

    Have you tried adding this?

    iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -p tcp --dport 8080 -j ACCEPT
