(Fedora 30) NVIDIA drivers not appearing in Software

I have enabled the usual repositories plus:
RPM Fusion for Fedora 30 - Nonfree - NVIDIA Drivers
    negativo17 - Nvidia
and have them enabled Software > Software Repositories.

Am I missing something? Is there a resource that might best walk me through installing NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-435.21.run on kernel 5.2.11-200.fc30.x86_64. I was stumped by the FedoraMagazine article instructions, and two or three others (one sort of went to the end, but knocked out KDE Plasma)

It seems that using dnf is the cleanest approach. Thanks in advance!

Re: (Fedora 30) NVIDIA drivers not appearing in Software

I find that multiple repositories for nvidia can sometimes conflict with each other. I use RPM Fusion, both free and non-free. Once they have been installed and enabled (usually automatically), it's fairly simple from there. negativo17 is what I use to put in handbrake and some other multimedia items, but I disable it after that. (conflicts with vlc and some libs have occurred several times ).
open a terminal, then "sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia kmod-nvidia" then reboot. It's worked very well here for many years. The akmod-nvidia will drag in a whole bunch of other libs and utilities needed to build the driver. The kmod-nvidia will install the module for the running kernel. The big advantage is once installed, it will build a new module for every new kernel, no need to bother much with it.
    Good luck,,
    (It's a hobby, but I like it)

Re: (Fedora 30) NVIDIA drivers not appearing in Software

Many thanks guys! I sure do love the simplicity of "sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia kmod-nvidia" then reboot -- I would be damned happy if that just worked. I"ve disabled the negativo repository. The following set of instructions (which seems to be widely used):
    https://www.if-not-true-then-false.c...-nvidia-guide/

..includes the following instructions for nouveau:
    1. echo "blacklist nouveau" >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
    2. edit '/etc/sysconfig/grub' to include "rd.driver.blacklist=nouveau"
    3. grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/grub.cfg
    4. dnf remove xorg-x11-drv-nouveau

I may safely ignore all of that too and just do it all with a single command? (I've got my fingers crossed)

(Edit: To be clear, if I get the go ahead, I'll do it and report back. If not, I might wait a few days and then do the same thing.)

Re: (Fedora 30) NVIDIA drivers not appearing in Software

Right, so I did do "sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia kmod-nvidia". On reboot, I have "NVIDIA kernel module is missing. Falling back to nouveau". The internet says my kernel is too new.

Is this a "wait until Fedora 31" thing, so the repository and the kernel can get on the same page?

Problem solved by disabling secure boot in UEFI settings. This thread was a huge help:
