    Upgrade to fedora 30

While opting for upgrade to FEDORA 30, the process couldn't start on account of following :

"Unable to upgrade to Fedora 30
Failed to load /etc/yum.repos.d/home:sarimkhan.repo: Key file does not start with a group".

    How to overcome the stalemate?

Disable the repository for the duration of the upgrade.

Thanks. As I'm not so conversant with Fedora, I tried to disable repository according to my knowledge and ability, but stalemate continued. However, should I proceed by the following commands ?

    sudo dnf upgrade --refresh
    sudo dnf install dnf-plugin-system-upgrade
    sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=30
    sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot

    What do you feel?

Yes. Those commands are correct. In my experience any repository that is additional to fedora and updates will cause issues during the upgrade process. These additional repositories will need to be disabled for the duration of the upgrade process.

Thanks for your reply. I have upgraded to Fedora 30 by the aforesaid commands. This time I didn't face any such hindrances. However, would you please help me as to how should I disable the repositories.

One more thing – in booting page still it is shown as Fedora 29 (workstation edition) though it has been upgraded to Fedora 30. Is it alright?

To disable a repository use the following command example:
    PHP Code:
    sudo yum config-manager --set-disabled <name-of-repository
As for the boot menu, I believe that the Fedora 29 entries will be purged as kernel updates occur.

Thanks Glennzo. Now the Boot Menu is showing as Fedora 30.
