    Realtek rtl8812au install problems

    Hi All,

I'm using Fedora 30 and have bought a new USB wireless card (https://www.radiolabs.com/wireless/w...usb-wifi-card/) because I couldn't get the drivers installed on the previous card which was (https://www.asus.com/au/Networking/PCEAC68/).

Stupidly I relied on the manufacturer stating "compatible with Linux" and when I received it I've realized it is the same chipset as the Asus model.

So, I'm at a point where I simply have to get the driver installed as I can't buy a third device just for drivers that work with Fedora.

I'm pretty new to Fedora, so please be gentle.

Some of the things I have tried are:
    * Download the official driver from the website (https://www.radiolabs.com/download/)
    * Navigate to directory containing install.sh file
    * execute ./install.sh

    Results in:
    make ARCH=x86_64 CROSS_COMPILE= -C /lib/modules/5.1.16-300.fc30.x86_64/build M=/home/fedora/Downloads/WaveStealthAC_linux_v4/AWUS036AC_036EAC_ACH_linux_v4.3.8_12175.20140902/driver/rtl8812AU_linux_v4.3.8_12175.20140902 modules
make[1]: *** /lib/modules/5.1.16-300.fc30.x86_64/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
    make: *** [Makefile:1456: modules] Error 2
    ##################################################
    Compile make driver error: 2
    Please check error Mesg
    ##################################################

Ive also tried following the tutorial here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZG65GkWGdU)
Which doesn't work as there seem to be no rtl8812au drivers in the standard Fedora repo.

I've also tried the following tutorial (https://www.reddit.com/r/Fedora/comm...l_wifi_driver/)

    and the result:

    [fedora@localhost Downloads]$ cd realtek_wlan_1030.13.704.2016/
    [fedora@localhost realtek_wlan_1030.13.704.2016]$ cd rtl8812AU/
    [fedora@localhost rtl8812AU]$ make
    make ARCH=x86_64 CROSS_COMPILE= -C /lib/modules/5.1.16-300.fc30.x86_64/build M=/home/fedora/Downloads/realtek_wlan_1030.13.704.2016/rtl8812AU modules
make[1]: *** /lib/modules/5.1.16-300.fc30.x86_64/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
    make: *** [Makefile:1687: modules] Error 2

I've also tried several others and kept running into problems.

I just can't work out what I'm doing wrong.

Can anyone show me how to get this driver working, as I'm getting desperate!!

    Re: Realtek rtl8812au install problems

Do you have kernel-devel packages installed?

I compiled this to work with Fedora 27 a while back. I think all I needed was "C Dev tools" and "kernel-devel".
