    [Solved] F29 - F30 upgrade bodied system

I seemingly successfully upgraded from F29 to F30 but I'm now unable to boot my system. I only have basic Linux knowledge.

From what I can gather (see images) there are inconsistencies within the file system which feck fails resolve (feck failed with exit status 4).

Trying to load one of the earlier F29 installations when booting makes no difference. I still end up in emergency mode. I'm advised to save /run/initramfs/rdsosreport.txt to a SUB stick or /boot after mounting them but I still haven't worked out how to do that yet. I seem to be stuck in emergency mode. Any pointers/help will be appreciated.

For temporary graphical use, after command line prompt, issue startx.
That should start the x system which in turn will start gnome or KDE..

    Re: F29 - F30 upgrade bodied system

    Thanks very much Isatenstein

Fortunately/unfortunately (I'm not sure) before I saw your reply I used a liveDvD to access my encrypted partitions, copied all the data I needed (I'd previously backed up and promptly forgot my backup password) on to a USB stick, installed Fedora 30 from the liveDVD and copied my data back. So my problem is 'solved'. So once again thanks for your help.

    Regards

From the images you posted, it looks like you need to reformat
the disk and try to re-install.

Personally, I never do an "upgrade" but always a fresh install.
That is also what the maintainers of Fedora recommend.

    Re: F29 - F30 upgrade bodied system

Fedora 30 is not off the quality of f28 and f29

    1) Update of very stable f29 > to F30 seamed to work... But Reboot said system iNVALID
    2) Clean install (net install) seemed ok till Reboot. Had filesystem errors on two of three clean installs (sucks), clean install f29 was ok.
    3) Gnome-terminal locks up. A lot of Wayland problems. Switching to Xorg still was [Odd].

Probably will step back Asswords to F29 it is rock stable.
